Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan (CEC) conducted its session headed by Mr. Mazahir Panahov on August 7, 2006.
Firstly, session minutes adopted by the Commission, dated on June 14, June 24 and July 7, 2006 were approved.
Later, Mr. Natig Mammadov, CEC Secretary reported on the approval of some document forms and considering some of them out of force in Municipal Elections. CEC adopted decision on the approval of some document forms and consideration of some of them out of force.
CEC also adopted decisions on making amendments in the composition of some Constituency Election Commissions.
At the session, the appeals entered CEC were also put under discussion. 3 decisions on the refusal from candidacy, adopted by Khacmaz village Con.EC # 56 were considered out of force. And one of the appeals was sent to the Con.EC for re-investigation.
CEC also considered current issues.
At the CEC session, representatives of IFES (International Foundation for Election Systems), the USA embassy and mass media also took part
