Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan (CEC) conducted its session headed by Mr. Mazahir Panahov on July 7, 2006.
Firstly, Mr. Natig Mammadov, CEC Secretary reported on "the list of identification documents used by the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, having the right to participate in Municipal Elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan, stateless persons and foreigners”. The Commission adopted decision on the approval of this List and considering invalid "the list of the documents that approve the personality of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, having suffrage pursuant to Article 1.1.25 of Election Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan and used by them in the election process”, approved by Decision # 3/21 by Central Election Commission, dated on June 21, 2003.
Later, some document forms of the agents, authorized representatives and members having consultative rights during Municipal Elections were approved.
At the CEC session, decisions were adopted on making amendments in the composition of some Constituency Election Commissions.
CEC also considered current issues.
At the CEC session, representatives of IFES (International Foundation for Election Systems), the USA embassy and mass media also took part.
