Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan (CEC) conducted its session headed by Mr. Mazahir Panahov on May 21, 2007.
Firstly, session minute adopted by CEC, dated on April 26, 2007 was approved.
Later, CEC Chairman reported on the end of the specification of permanent voters lists on the republic. He noted that in accordance with the requirements of Article 46.12 of Election Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan Precinct Election Commissions (PECs) turned over preliminary voters lists compiled on the precincts to Constituency Election Commissions (Con.ECs) till February 5. And Con.ECs submitted the voters lists on constituencies to the CEC till April 5. CEC has already finished the work of specifying voters lists on the republic. It became clear that 4683400 voters were included in the permanent voters lists. The number of voters became 82500 in comparison with 2006. After the speech of CEC Chairman, Mr. Natig Mammadov, CEC Secretary made CEC Commissioners aware of the decision draft about the above-mentioned issue. CEC decided that the specification of voters lists in the Republic of Azerbaijan shall be considered as finished, the lists shall be sent to relevant Con.ECs and after compiling the voters lists on the Republic of Azerbaijan via State Automated Information System, they shall be publicized by being located on the web page of the CEC.
CEC also adopted decisions on making amendments in the composition of Guba Con.EC # 52, Guba-Gusar Con.EC # 53, Ujar Con.EC # 91 and Gornaboy-Aghdam-Tartar Con.EC # 97.
At the CEC session representatives of IFES (the USA), the USA embassy and mass emdia also took part.
