Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan (CEC) conducted its session headed by Mr. Mazahir Panahov on November 24, 2009.

Firstly, the issue on the application of usage practice of web-cameras in the precincts during the voting process in Municipal Elections appointed to 23 December 2009.

 

CEC decided that in the aim of further ensuring transparecny in the voting process during Municipal Elections, the practice of using web-cameras shall be used, so, web-cameras shall be installed in 500 precincts within the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Later, the appeals entered the CEC concerning Municipal Elections were considered. Two of the appeals were not implemented by being regarded groundless and decision was adopted to extend the investigation period of the others.

At the CEC session, current issues were also considered.
At the session, representatives of International Foundation for Election Systems (the USA) and mass media also took part.
