Nakhchivan, within the framework of the joint project of the Central Election Commission (CEC) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a seminar conference dedicated to the service activity of the police in the municipal elections scheduled for January 29, 2025 was held.

Representatives of the Central Election Commission and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as the chairmen of the constituency election commissions of the autonomous republic, employees of police departments and departments took part in the event.

Javid Jafarov, head of the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, spoke about the roles and duties of police officers defined by legislation in the preparation and holding of municipal elections, during the pre-election campaign period, as well as on the voting day and subsequent processes.

Huseyn Pashayev, a member of the Central Election Commission, said that the upcoming municipal elections are being prepared at a high level. In order to hold elections transparently and fairly, as well as to educate election participants, projects in various directions are being continued in the regions.

Then the head of the Chief Public Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Sanan Aliyev, said, "Rights and duties of police officers regarding the provision of public order during the election campaign and on the day of the elections. Taking security measures during the delivery of ballot papers and other election documents to the constituency and the Central Election Commission in the post-election period", Ilkin Shahbazov, a member of the Central Election Commission, "Election subjects, their rights and duties. They spoke on the topic of "inadmissibility of illegal interference in the activities of election subjects".

At the seminar conference, opinions were exchanged on the service activities of the police in the municipal elections, tasks and recommendations were given, and questions were answered.
