Regarding the early Elections to the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, appointed to September 1, 2024, the distribution of ballot papers to Constituency Election Commissions (Con.ECs) has been started.

The process carried out in an open and transparent manner with the participation of CEC members, colleagues of the Secretariat, as well as relevant Con.EC chairpersons and secretaries was fully allowed by international and foreign organizations, election observation missions, media representatives and interested election stakeholders with free access to the process.

It was informed about the arrangement of preparation and distribution of ballot papers on destination as defined in the legislation, meanwhile, the questions interesting to journalists were responded during the familiarization with the process aired broadly and timely by the media representatives.

It is worth noting that the distribution of ballot papers will last for three days and end on August 26, 2024. The first day – on August 24, 2024, ballot papers are planned to be handed over and the process to be completely finalized in totally 40 election constituencies including the election constituencies of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the election constituencies where polling stations of the territories liberated from occupation belong to, as well as those covering remote regions of the country and within the next 2 days to all the Con.ECs of the country.

The security of the process of transfer, maintenance and distribution of the ballot papers compiled in high secure atmosphere after they have been issued to PECs, shall be ensured by the relevant institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It should also be noted that after the text, format, number and preparation rules of ballot papers for the Elections to the Milli Majlis have been approved by the Central Election Commission within the timeframe defined by the legislation, the ballot papers started to be printed from August 15, 2024 and by the Commission decision, 6516567 (six million five hundred sixteen thousand and five hundred sixty seven) ballot papers were printed.

Pursuant to the Election Code, after the ballot papers have been issued to Con.ECs, they will be provided to PECs by Con.ECs at least 3 days prior to the voting day.
