The Central Election Commission held seminar on the registration process of candidates to deputy
The Central Election Commission (CEC) is continuing its intensive awareness-raising projects on various fields for the election stakeholder with different status in the early Elections to the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, appointed to September 1, 2024.
The following activity based on the CEC education program - seminar on the registration process of candidates to deputy was organized on July 12, 2024.
The seminar started with an introductory speech by Mr. Rovzat Gasimov, CEC Deputy Chairman. Later, basing on the session agenda, presentations made by CEC members were heard inn regard with legal requirements for the nomination and registration of candidates to deputy, subjects entitled to nominate a candidate, conditions and rules for the collection of voters’ signatures in support of candidates, as well as, checking the accuracy of the information included in signature sheets and documents submitted by candidates, political parties, political party blocs in the Elections to the Milli Majlis.
The presentations included thorough information on the topics via using visual aids, broad discussions were held in the practical workshop and the questions interesting the participants were replied to. In addition, for familiarization, each participant was submitted guidebook for candidates to deputy compiled by the CEC.
Heads of the Working Groups, each of them established under 125 Constituency Election Commissions (Con.ECs) to check the accuracy of the information in signature sheets and attached documents submitted for the registration of the candidates to deputy participated at the seminar broadcasted by the representatives of media outlets.
It is worth of noting that the event, which is being implemented as a large-scale education project, aims to improve the knowledge and professional skills of Constituency Election Commissions and their awareness-raising on nomination and registration of candidates to deputy.
