Ballot papers for the Presidential elections started to be distributed to Constituency Election Commissions
Regarding the early Presidential elections appointed to February 7, 2024, the distribution of ballot papers to Constituency Election Commissions (Con.ECs) has started at the Press of the Milli Majlis with the participation of CEC members, colleagues of the Secretariat, as well as relevant Con.EC chairpersons and secretaries.
The process was carried out in an open and transparent manner and international organizations, election observation missions, mass media representatives and interested election stakeholders were provided with free access to the process.
The first day – on January 30, 2024, ballot papers are planned to be handed over and the process to be completely finalized in totally 36 election constituencies including the election constituencies of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the election constituencies where polling stations of the territories liberated from occupation belong to, as well as those covering remote regions of the country and within the next 2 days to all the Con.ECs of the country.
The security of the process of transfer, maintenance and distribution of the ballot papers compiled in high secure atmosphere after they have been issued to Con.ECs, shall be ensured by the relevant institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During the event mass media was informed on the legal requirements of the Election Code for the preparation and deliverance of ballot papers and organization of the process, therewith, the questions interesting to journalists were replied to.
It should also be noted that after the text, format, number and preparation rules of ballot papers for the Presidential Elections have been approved by the Central Election Commission within the timeframe defined by the legislation, the ballot papers started to be printed from January 24, 2024 and by the Commission decision, 6 524 203 (six million five hundred twenty four thousand and two hundred three) ballot papers were printed.
Pursuant to the Election Code, after the ballot papers have been issued to Con.ECs, they will be provided to PECs by Con.ECs at least 3 days prior to the Election Day.
