The Central Election Commission (CEC) conducted the following session chaired by Mr. Mazahir Panahov on January 13, 2024. Firstly, the Commission’s session minute dated 9 January, 2024 was approved.

Later, the issue was considered regarding the creation of lottery commission and the determination of the date and time of the drawing for the purpose of distributing the over-allocated free airtime as established in the legislation to conduct pre-election campaign on Public TV and Radio Broadcasting Company in the early Presidential elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan, appointed to February 7, 2024. Following the discussion of CEC members, it was decided to create lottery commission, comprising of 3 CEC members and Head of the Media and Communication Department for distributing the allocated airtime on a free basis and conducting drawing on January 15, 2024 at 14:00 in the CEC administrative building.

Amendments to the structures of some Constituency Election Commissions were also made at the session.

Current issues were also considered at the session attended by the representative of international observation mission, commission member with consultative voting right of the political party with registered candidate and representatives of mass media.
