The Central Election Commission (CEC) conducted the following session chaired by Mr. Mazahir Panahov on December 30. The issue on the registration of candidacy by Mr. Ilham Heydar oghlu Aliyev, nominated for Presidency of the Republic of Azerbaijan by the New Azerbaijan Party was considered at the session.

It was noted that the signature sheets collected in support of Mr. Ilham Heydar oghlu Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party nominated by the New Azerbaijan Party in the early Presidential elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan, appointed to February 7, 2024 and the additional documents for the registration of the candidacy were presented to the CEC by the authorized representative of the party on December 26, 2023. CEC conducted the necessary investigation within the stipulated period and procedures outlined in the Election Code, and basing on the principles, the Commission determined the grounds for the registration of the candidate.

After providing detailed information on the course of these processes and discussions held, Mr. Ilham Heydar oghlu Aliyev nominated by the New Azerbaijan Party in the early Presidential elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan, appointed to February 7, 2024 was registered as a candidate by the unanimous decision of the Commission members.

During the meeting, the text, format, number and preparation procedure of the ballot papers for the upcoming elections were discussed and approved by the Commission members. In accordance with the requirements of the Election Code, 6524203 (six million five hundred twenty four thousand two hundred three)ballot papers decided to prepare at the Press of the Apparatus of Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan under the observation of 3 members based on CEC representation.

The candidacy of Mr. Namizad Heydar oghlu Safarov, nominated on his own initiative in the early Presidential elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan, appointed to February 7, 2024 was verified at the session of Commission.

The current issues were also discussed during the session attended by representatives of international observation missions and media organizations.
