The Central Election Commission (CEC) conducted a session chaired by Mr. Mazahir Panahov on September 19, 2023. Firstly, the session minute of the Commission, dated 26 May 2023 was approved.

Later, the issue on re-approval of the scheme of establishing election constituencies and its graphical description was considered. It was informed that CEC shall ensure the compatibility of voters’ number on election constituencies with the representation norm within a manner defined by the Election Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, undertake subsequent and systematic activities in this regard, regularly review the system and graphical description of election constituencies and take necessary steps upon taking the legislative requirements as a basis.

Since the average representation norm on election constituencies needs to be adjusted to the relevant Articles of the Election Code, legal bases have been formed to re-approve the scheme of establishment of election constituencies and its graphical description according to the analyses of increase dynamics of voter’ number.

In this regard, to ensure the foregoing requirements of the election legislation, the commission for the delimitation of constituencies, established by CEC which is comprised of specialists also submitted the suggestions regarding the re-approval of the compiled scheme of election constituencies and its graphical description to CEC upon basing on the average representation norm of registered voters and other requirements as defined in the legislation.

During the session the carried out inclusive activity was informed about thoroughly and it was decided to publish the scheme of establishment of election constituencies and its graphical description, also the list of constituencies in accordance with the Election Code following the detailed and thorough discussion of the CEC members.
