The Central Election Commission (CEC) conducted a session chaired by Mr. Mazahir Panahov on December 7, 2019. Firstly, CEC Chairman made the Commission members aware of the Order of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the dismiss of the fifth call Mili Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and appointment of the Early Elections to the Mili Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and informed that by the Order of the head of state, the Elections to the Mili Majlis was appointed to February 9, 2020.

Later, in the aim of undertaking the basic activities and measures implied by the election legislation in a regular and efficient manner, to provide methodical assistance to the election stakeholders and to smooth their activity in the election process, the Calendar Plan for the basic activities and measures on the preparation and conduct of the elections was approved upon the discussion.

During the Commission session the issue on the establishment of the Expert Group under CEC to investigate the complaints against the actions (inactions) and decisions violating citizens’ election rights was also considered and it was decided to form Expert Group 9 persons under the Commission. The Constituency Election Commissions were commissioned with the establishment of Expert Groups under these election commissions, consisting of 3 persons not later than the period implied in legislation.

Working Group consisting of the experts from relevant state bodieswas established to check the accuracy of the information included in signature sheets and other attached documents submitted for the registration of a candidacy in the Elections to the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a CEC member was appointed a head of the Group at the session.

Some legal documents adopted by CEC were also made amendments at the session attended by the representatives of mass media.
